It’s very “tacky” and I have never had any problems with it slipping on hard surfaces, or with my hands or forearms slipping, even while damp with sweat. At 71 inches (that’s 5 foot 11 inches), it’s also a bit longer than most yoga mats, which makes it nice for when you are doing something like corpse pose. I purchased the Jade Yoga Fusion mat just last week, and after only scrubbing it once, it is perfect. At first I was blown away by the price. I spent a lot of money on it and won’t be able to use it for at least a year or maybe never. Please consider what I have to say.
There is a huge difference from this mat and the standard yoga mat. Love how thick it is. I can easily bring it to classes with me, it has awesome grip both on the ground and on my hands and feet, and it is the perfect width for my boney joints. My yoga experience is so much better now that I have this mat.
I’ve had it for 3 months only, but despite reasonably heavy use (jumping, weights) it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. It just sits in my home, and that extra weight gives it extra stability because I use it for workouts (not yoga). I hope it gets better, I’m 6’3″, and I practice yoga 3x a week. Looking for a good mat, I was recommended to get this one from my instructor.
This new mat is truly a great product. It’s much thicker and provides cushion and support.
A note on the product information sleeve mentioned that there is a slight film on the mat. I don’t sweat very easily, and it happened only every so often so I think it may have been the oils in my hands. The Manduka BlackMat Pro is spacious, comfortable, and sturdy for balance and offers great cushioning for the knees and ankles. There are only two downsides the mat gets very slippery the second your hands begin to sweat.
If you bring your own mat you always know where it’s been. Plus, owning your own mat may encourage you to begin valuable practice at home. Working out? I’ve never had a problem with slipping and it’s super easy to clean/dry.
It is very much a requirement in our household that the mat be able to withstand her activity [and her claws]. These mats do the trick, where other yoga mats have sorely failed. I am not willing to expose myself to toxin inhalation for an hour a day. We have enough harmful materials everywhere to do this electively.
It survived doing yoga on damp cement floors for a year in India…on dirt…jute, cleans up easily too. If I don’t lose this one, it might be the last yoga mat I ever have to buy.
I have no problems recommending this to all my friends. cheap inground pools.
